Chris Rock’s ‘Saw’ Reboots Earns R Rating for “Bloody Violence and Torture”

Chris Rock and director Darren Lynn Bousman‘s ‘Spiral: From the Book of Saw’, has earned an R rating for bloody violence and torture. The movie set to arrive in theaters in May, and now with an R rating, fans need not worry about it toning down the violence. This ninth entry in the Saw franchise also stars Samuel L. Jackson as Chris Rock’s father.

Lionsgate’s officially released synopsis reads “Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly trapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.”
