The Ritual’s David Bruckner to Direct Hellraiser Reboot
David Bruckner (The Ritual, South Bound) has signed on to helm the reboot of cult horror hit ‘Hellraiser’ for Spyglass.
The new reboot will be penned by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski based on story treatment from David Goyer, who is attached to produce the reboot through his Phantom Four banner alongside Keith Levine.
The original 1987 movie is based on Clive Barker’s novella ‘The Hellbound Heart’, which told the story of a man who opened a door to another dimension that resulted in his body being destroyed by Cenobites led by the iconic Pinhead, they are creatures from Hell that grant sadomasochistic pleasures to those who call upon them with the use of a mysterious puzzle box.
