We know lockdowns are terrifying, but this new film featuring iconic actor Tony Todd really puts things in perspective. Setting the film in the very present COVID-19 era, director Howard J. Ford draws in the relevant and puts forth a question: As people stay home and the world starts to shift, are there just wildlife and nature roaming out in our cities? Because it turns out, spirits might too, he suggests.
As restrictions bind people to their home, girls living alone in their apartments are turning up dead, and the local populace is gripped by an unseen enemy. It takes the combination of wits and skills from local detectives and a paranormal investigator to suss out that a serial killer might be on the loose – with the exception that… he’s dead.
This spiritual mousehunt that puts victims and local enforcement in a unique bind really speak to current times. As if the quarantines were not maddening enough, the girls now have ghostly disturbances to contend with. Besides the scares, this film should really fan our hopes that a full lockdown doesn’t ever happen again.
